If you have your tone frequency, or thereabouts, using the generator above, you may also find that a perfect octave, or two, either way up or down, may be more suitable and easier listening, yet still effective for longer periods of use or maybe as a sleep aid.
Once you have your frequency, or close to it, go to this Frequency Calculator, , and enter that into the calculator..
For example, I want to see what frequency an octave lower is, from my 3000Hz (example), so I’m going to add 3000Hz to the top box, then select one octave down and hit calculate, to reveal 1500Hz.. Now I have another frequency to try out, a lower, often less harsh one and a perfect octave down.
It works the other way too, so I add my frequency in the lower box and select one octave and it fills in another octave above.
Now I have three possible frequencies I can listen to while browsing through sounds. My original matched tone at 3000Hz, I now also have 1500Hz and 6000Hz options.
It's worth trying different octaves above and below your tone frequency, as they may well work better for distracting your brain away from the tinnitus sound.
What is tinnitus audio masking?
It's a technique using external sounds to 'mask' or cover up the internal noises of tinnitus, helping your brain ignore them over time.
How do I find my tinnitus frequency?
Use our free generator tool above - start low volume and select waveforms to match your tone.
Can these sounds cure tinnitus?
While not a cure, masking provides symptomatic relief, with many users experiencing long-term benefits.
What's the difference between white and pink noise?
White noise covers all frequencies equally (like static), while pink noise emphasizes lower ones for a more natural, soothing effect - great for sleep.
How much does the library cost?
Individual files within the categories are just £2.99. Instant download after secure payment through Paypal in any currency.
